We have gathered all the information you will need before leaving to work in Europe.
Accommodation
Employers provide or arrange accommodation. Usually these are separate rooms with a shared kitchen and sanitary facilities. The cost – from €200–400/month, deducted from your salary.
Transport
Many employers arrange transfers from Lithuania to the workplace. You can also travel in your own vehicle – part of the travel costs is usually reimbursed.
Internet and communication
Accommodation usually has WiFi. We recommend buying a local SIM card – it is the cheapest way to stay in touch.
Food
Grocery store chains are available in all countries. Lithuanian products can be found in many cities, especially where there are many Lithuanians.
Health insurance
Working officially, you are entitled to health insurance under the laws of the country of employment. The European Health Insurance Card is also valid.
Language barrier
Many teams also include Russian- or English-speaking colleagues. The Lithuanian community is active in Germany, the Netherlands and Norway.
Documents
You can work in EU countries with a Lithuanian ID card. Additional documents (work permits, etc.) are usually not required.

Working officially, you are insured under the health insurance system of the country of employment. You can also use the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
In many countries it is convenient to use Wise (TransferWise), Revolut or a simple bank transfer. Fees are usually low – from 0.5%.
